Corti Milano is a new name in the fashion world. Interesting design and those three magical words – “made in Italy”.
Riga Fashion Week is officially over. So did the actual fashion month in Riga. And just before starting with the reviews of the fashion shows, I want to tell you about a presentation of a young Italian brand Corti Milano, which took place during Riga Fashion Week.
The brand was launched in 2013, so exactly a year ago, but has already got attention of Western press and fashionistas. Bags with interesting and memorable design simply won’t let you stay indifferent. Great combination of different skin textures, sometimes pretty bold color combinations and quite popular in recent years spiked embellishment. Corti Milano designer duo did add some twist to its collection, which became that exact hallmark that won’t let you confuse these bags with any other brand. Creators found inspiration in cobra, namely, in its head, so, if you look closer, you’ll notice the similarity to the shape of cobra’s head, while metallic finishing will give associations with fangs.
Designers behind all this beauty are two young, talented and pretty modest people. The one is Yusun Jang, graduate of Istituto Marangoni (Milan), that happened to be a good surprise, she also had a chance to work for such internationally successful companies, as John Richmond and Etro. It’s good to know that your university’s graduates, though from Milan campus, happen to be so creative.
Yusun’s partner in this business is Alessandro Corti, holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Master’s Degree Engineering of one of Milan universities. Interesting point in Alessandro’s case is how a man, who studied architecture found himself in fashion sphere.
The presentation itself was held in a beautiful, stylish and cozy Madam BonBon salon. I’ve passed it so many times, but never had opportunity to go inside. Italian brand presentation seemed to be a perfect occasion to visit Madam BonBon and its home-like atmosphere.
