Gingerbread cookies (in Latvia we call it piparkūkas) is the essential part of Christmas/New Year period.
I didn’t like it, when I was a kid. But then something changed and now I can’t imagine Christmas without gingerbread cookies. This year I decided to make cookies myself.
We take: already prepared gingerbread dough (yes, I cheated here); decorating icing (e.g. Dr. Oetker); cookie cutters
Preparation:
Roll out the dough and make different cookies using cutters. In case you want to decorate Christmas tree, small holes should be created for ribbons. Put cookies on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Beat an egg and grease each cookie. Put in the over (200C) for 5-10 minutes. Let the cookies cool down and then start decorating. Here you can use all your imagination!
